I'll never be Kurt Vonnegut.
People live in their own little worlds
that swirl around together
to make reality.
His always seemed a little sunnier,
despite the war
and the gloom
and the sad sad truth.
A true follower of quantum law,
he changed the world by looking at it
and had the courtesy
to note down his edits.
Whereas I
spend my hours worrying
that the people who look at me
forget that the fruit is the truth of the flower
and use their thoughts as pruning shears.
